Kyle Matthees

From orchestras to dance bands and brass quintet to hip hop tracks, Kyle has developed a sense of versatility that allows him to feel comfortable in a variety of musical genres. From his home studio he's done recordings for an internal demo with Nickelodeon, a short film for Blue Phoenix Film Works, collaborations with the band Vansire, Kirsten Arian, and RnB artist Carmen Marie.For a list of credits and more musical examples, check out the recordings page.
an educator
Kyle is currently pursing a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi where he is employed as a graduate assistant. Previously he enjoyed teaching as an adjunct instructor of theory, aural skills, and music appreciation at Middle Tennessee State University, Belmont University, and Lindsey Wilson College.
His passions for trumpet research and study allowed him to be published in the International Trumpet Guild Journal with an article that highlights Oskar Böhme’s modeling of his trumpet concerto after Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor.
